Aloha and welcome to the Moʻo Meheu Exhibition on the Papahana Kuaola website. Moʻo Meheu, meaning “to follow the path of those who came before us,” shares digital stories about Hawaiian plants, their classifications, cultural practices, and the contributions of planting groups from participating schools and communities. Students engage in interactive classroom sessions and a huakaʻi to Waipao, where they explore ethnobotany and seed stewardship, learning about native and canoe plants and connecting with ancestral lands. The exhibition features a Google Earth map showcasing plant locations and cultural uses, with updates from Waipao educators on plant growth. Participants who took home plants are encouraged to complete the Māla Positional System (MPS) form to track their plant’s progress. Mahalo for being part of this meaningful experience!
